Terms of Service
Last updated August 8, 2026
These terms apply to onerlaw.com and to the software projects operated by Onerlaw LLC ("Onerlaw", "we", "us"), including our SMS notification program. By using a project or opting in to notifications, you agree to these terms.
What we provide
Onerlaw LLC is an independent software company. We operate Onerlaw, a web-based personal finance dashboard: users link their bank and credit card accounts through Plaid and track their spending against a weekly budget they set. The product is provided free of charge and on an as-is basis, and we may change, pause, or shut it down at any time.
SMS notification program
Program description.Onerlaw LLC operates one SMS program: account notifications for registered users of the Onerlaw dashboard. Each morning the platform sends one message reporting the user's spending so far that week against their budget, followed by the current balance of each linked account. A user can also trigger that same summary for themselves from inside the dashboard. These are transactional notifications. We do not send marketing or promotional messages.
How you opt in. Text messaging is off by default and there is no public sign-up form for SMS. The only recipients are registered users of the dashboard who have asked to receive these messages; we never message a number that has not agreed, and we do not buy or import lists. Consent is collected verbally and in person, using this script:
"I want to add your mobile number to your Onerlaw account so the dashboard can text you. It will send you one message each morning with your spending for the week so far and the balances of your linked accounts — about seven messages a week — and you can request one yourself from the dashboard at any time. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Do you agree to receive these messages?"
A number is added to the recipient list only after that person answers yes. Consent is not a condition of using the dashboard, and it can be withdrawn at any time.
Message frequency. About seven messages per week — one each morning — plus any summary a user requests themselves. If we add another notification program, we will update this page before it starts sending.
Cost. Message and data rates may apply. Onerlaw does not charge for notifications, but your mobile carrier may charge you for messages you send and receive.
How to stop messages. Reply STOP to any message to cancel. You can also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. We will send one confirmation message and then stop sending texts to that number. To start again, reply START or UNSTOP, or ask to be re-added inside the project. Our Unsubscribe page repeats these instructions and gives an email fallback.
How to get help. Reply HELP or INFO to any message, or email us at derek@onerlaw.com.
Carriers. Delivery is subject to your mobile carrier and to network conditions. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old, and you must be the account holder of, or authorized to use, the mobile number you give us. Please tell us if that number changes or is reassigned.
Privacy. Mobile numbers collected for messaging are handled under our Privacy Policy and are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Acceptable use
When using our projects, you agree not to:

Accounts
If a project gives you an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised. We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms.
Availability
We run these projects on a best-effort basis. There is no uptime commitment, and notifications may be delayed or missed. Do not rely on them for anything safety-critical, time-critical, or otherwise consequential.

Our projects and notifications are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Onerlaw LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from a delayed, undelivered, or inaccurate notification.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use a project after an update means you accept the revised terms.
